Realizing that Rental Housing is one of the critical solutions to the problem of poor housing conditions in India, a series of Rental Housing Labs have been jointly organized by the Centre for Policy Research (CPR), Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Cities Alliance, World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Housing and Urban Development Corporation’s (HUDCO) Settlement Management Institute (HSMI), International Finance Corporation, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and Habitat for Humanity.

The Labs have been curated as a platform to deepen the rental housing policy dialogue in India.

A series of four Rental Housing Policy Lab sessions have been undertaken till date where experts such as Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Chairman Hiranandani Group, President National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) and Member of Habitat for Humanity Advisory Committee and Rajan Samuel, Managing Director Habitat India shared their valuable inputs during the sessions.

The group of organizations have successfully completed the labs and are in the process of chalking out the future course of action.
