On 19th July 2024, dreams turned into reality for 11 marginalised families from the Katkari tribe in Ubhade village, Nashik district, Maharashtra. Thanks to the support of Aditya Birla Capital Foundation, these families now have decent shelters and better sanitation facilities for their children. Every wall built is a step toward a brighter future.
The handover ceremony - held in a hybrid mode - was attended by key figures, including Mr. Gopal Kumar, CSR Head of Aditya Birla Capital and Mr. Vinay Kumar, Manager CSR, Aditya Birla Capital who joined virtually. Mr. Prashant Pawar, Block Development Officer (BDO) of Igatpuri block and his colleagues Mr. Sanjay Pawar – Assistant BDO, Ms. Megha Ahire – Extension Officer, and Mr. D.M. Karhale – Extension Officer attended the handover in person. The event was also attended by Mr. Anand Kumar Bolimera, National Director, Habitat for Humanity India, along with members of the Habitat India team, community leaders, homeowners, and school authorities.
During the ceremony, Sanjay Pawar presented a letter of appreciation to Habitat for Humanity India, received by Anand Kumar Bolimera, National Director, Habitat for Humanity India, expressing gratitude for the organisation's significant contributions to improving local living conditions and infrastructure. Speaking on the event he said, “I am honoured to present this token of appreciation to Habitat for Humanity India, for their significant contributions to improving housing conditions, and their unwavering dedication and impactful work in our communities."
